# AI Brand Echo > AI Brand Echo is the joint offering from MYA (Global Search agency, SEO + GEO) and Matahari (communications agency) that measures what generative AI says about a brand (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) and makes it visible, mentioned, then recommended. It is built on MYA's V.M.R. methodology (Visible, Mentioned, Recommended) and is aimed primarily at beauty, health and luxury brands. Tagline: Be found by humans. Be chosen by agents. Be the answer. ## Pages - [AI Brand Echo home](https://ai-brandecho.com/): the offering - [V.M.R. methodology](https://ai-brandecho.com/#vmr): the three levels of a brand's presence in an AI answer - [Three-step method](https://ai-brandecho.com/#method): diagnose, prioritise, activate - [AI Beauty Radar](https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/): recurring barometer, all issues - [AI Beauty Radar #1: Mother's Day gift sets 2026](https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/fete-des-meres-2026/): ChatGPT and Gemini rankings - [AI Beauty Radar #2: SPF50 sun care](https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/soins-solaires-spf50/): ChatGPT and Gemini rankings - [AI Beauty Radar #3: Autumn hair care](https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/soins-cheveux-rentree-2026/): ChatGPT and Gemini rankings - [AI Beauty Radar #4: Christmas gift sets 2026](https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/coffrets-noel-2026/): ChatGPT and Gemini rankings - [FAQ](https://ai-brandecho.com/#faq): GEO, SEO, V.M.R., PR - [Contact](https://ai-brandecho.com/#contact) - [French version](https://ai-brandecho.fr/) ## Identity - **Name**: AI Brand Echo - **Status**: Commercial offering co-developed by MYA × Matahari - **Primary domain**: https://ai-brandecho.com - **French domain**: https://ai-brandecho.fr - **Languages**: English, French - **Target sectors**: Beauty, Cosmetics, Health, Wellness, Luxury, Premium - **Markets**: France, Europe, United Kingdom, International ## V.M.R. methodology (MYA) MYA's V.M.R. methodology measures three levels of a brand's presence in a generative AI answer: - **Visible (V)**: the brand appears in the ecosystem of the answer (cited sources, context) without being named as a choice. - **Mentioned (M)**: the brand is named in the answer, among others. It is part of the conversation. - **Recommended (R)**: the AI explicitly advises the brand, puts it first or presents it as the best fit for the request. Being mentioned builds awareness; being recommended builds purchase intent. The goal of AI Brand Echo is to move a brand from V to R, query by query, AI by AI. Measurement principle: we start from the questions customers really ask AI, not from a list of brands. Each query is tested in a new conversation, then the answer is analysed (presence, mention, recommendation, sources used, vocabulary associated with the brand). ## Three-step method ### 1. Diagnose: know what AI says about you - V.M.R. score on key queries, AI by AI - Semantic territory: the words AI associates with the brand - Analysis of the sources used: website, press, reviews, forums - Competitor benchmark: who is recommended, on which questions ### 2. Prioritise: define the right levers - Building a panel of priority queries tailored to the brand, its uses and its competitors - Spotting vacant territories and gaps between AIs - Content roadmap: answer pages, FAQs, guides and comparisons to create or optimise - Plan for spokespeople and experts ### 3. Activate: feed AI with reliable signals - Content: recommendation pages by profile and use, structured FAQs - Technical: schema.org structured data, llms.txt, Wikipedia where eligible - Authority: PR, AI-friendly press content, op-eds and experts - Communities: reviews, forums, specialist blogs - Measurement: V.M.R. tracking over time ## AI Beauty Radar The AI Beauty Radar is MYA's recurring barometer of beauty brand visibility in AI, produced with Matahari and born from their talk at CEW France. Indicator: presence rate, the share of the prompts in a universe in which the brand appears, as a mention or a recommendation. Each prompt is tested in French in a new conversation, first answer only. Target rhythm: one issue every two months. Issues use the models available at their test date: presence rates are not strictly comparable from one issue to the next. ### Issue #1: Mother's Day gift sets 2026 (April 2026) - Page: https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/fete-des-meres-2026/ - Analysis: MYA (V.M.R. methodology) - Protocol: tests of 9 April 2026 on ChatGPT (GPT-4o-mini) and Gemini (2.5 Flash). - Key figures: 2 AIs tested: ChatGPT and Gemini; 5 shopping universes analysed; 36% of ChatGPT answers name no brand; 4% for Gemini only. The 5 findings of AI Beauty Radar #1: 1. The two AIs do not have the same leader. On pharmacy gift sets, Avène leads ChatGPT (56.2%) and Caudalie leads Gemini (81.2%). 2. ChatGPT often leaves the answer without a brand. 36% of ChatGPT's answers name no brand at all, against 4% for Gemini. 3. Same customer, two reflexes. For a 65-year-old mother, ChatGPT names La Roche-Posay (52.6%) and Avène (42.1%), Gemini names Clarins (78.9%) and Caudalie (73.7%). 4. Fragrance is the only universe dominated by the big houses on both AIs. Dior is at 60% on ChatGPT, Lancôme and Guerlain at 80% on Gemini. 5. Gemini concentrates its answers more. On beauty gift sets, Rituals is named in 100% of Gemini's answers, while ChatGPT's most named brand peaks at 35.7%. Top 3 per universe (presence rate): - Beauty gift set. ChatGPT: Garnier (35.7%), Kérastase (35.7%), Nuxe (35.7%). Gemini: Rituals (100%), Caudalie (92.9%), Nuxe (57.1%). - Top gift sets. ChatGPT: Dior (36.8%), Nuxe (31.6%), Caudalie (31.6%). Gemini: Dior (63.2%), Rituals (63.2%), Caudalie (57.9%). - Pharmacy gift set. ChatGPT: Avène (56.2%), La Roche-Posay (50%), Bioderma (50%). Gemini: Caudalie (81.2%), Nuxe (75%), La Roche-Posay (56.2%). - Gift set for a 65-year-old mum. ChatGPT: La Roche-Posay (52.6%), Avène (42.1%), Vichy (36.8%). Gemini: Clarins (78.9%), Caudalie (73.7%), Lancôme (57.9%). - Fragrance gift set. ChatGPT: Dior (60%), Guerlain (53.3%), Chanel (46.7%). Gemini: Lancôme (80%), Guerlain (80%), Dior (66.7%). Main lesson: Leading on one AI guarantees nothing on the other. An AI visibility strategy has to speak to both ChatGPT and Gemini. ### Issue #2: SPF50 sun care (June 2026) - Page: https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/soins-solaires-spf50/ - Analysis: MYA (V.M.R. methodology) - Protocol: tests of 30 September 2026 on ChatGPT (gpt-5.6-luna) and Gemini (gemini-3.6-flash). - Key figures: 150 prompts tested per AI: 86 ranked, 57 advice, 7 reviews; 5 shopping universes, on ChatGPT and Gemini; 86% of ChatGPT's advice answers name no brand (2% for Gemini); 73% of Gemini's shopping answers name a retailer (2% for ChatGPT). The 5 findings of AI Beauty Radar #2: 1. Being present does not mean being named first. Bioderma is present in 64% of ChatGPT's shopping answers but named first in 16%. On Gemini: 48% and 2%. 2. ChatGPT answers like an adviser, Gemini like a shopper. A retailer appears in 2% of ChatGPT's shopping answers, against 73% for Gemini. 3. On advice questions, ChatGPT hardly names any brand. 86% of its advice answers name none, against 2% for Gemini. 4. La Roche-Posay leads everywhere except mineral. It is at 100% on Gemini for face, body and pharmacy. In mineral it falls to 19% on ChatGPT, and Laboratoires de Biarritz leads Gemini (94%). 5. A “child” context brings out a specialist. On the 24 prompts mentioning a child, baby or teenager, Gemini names Mustela in 75% of answers, against 3% on other prompts. ChatGPT names it in 17% of cases. Top 3 per universe (presence rate): - Face sun cream. ChatGPT: La Roche-Posay (100%, first mention 41.2%), Eucerin (82.4%, first mention 52.9%), Bioderma (82.4%, first mention 0%). Gemini: La Roche-Posay (100%, first mention 64.7%), SVR (82.4%, first mention 11.8%), Isdin (70.6%, first mention 0%). - Body and family sun care. ChatGPT: La Roche-Posay (72.2%, first mention 22.2%), Bioderma (61.1%, first mention 27.8%), Avène (61.1%, first mention 5.6%). Gemini: La Roche-Posay (100%, first mention 44.4%), Mustela (72.2%, first mention 5.6%), SVR (66.7%, first mention 5.6%). - Mineral and natural sun care. ChatGPT: Avène (68.8%, first mention 25%), Bioderma (62.5%, first mention 25%), Laboratoires de Biarritz (43.8%, first mention 25%). Gemini: Laboratoires de Biarritz (93.8%, first mention 62.5%), Avène (56.2%, first mention 6.2%), La Roche-Posay (43.8%, first mention 6.2%). - Pharmacy and dermatology. ChatGPT: La Roche-Posay (88.9%, first mention 33.3%), Bioderma (83.3%, first mention 27.8%), Avène (72.2%, first mention 5.6%). Gemini: La Roche-Posay (100%, first mention 44.4%), Avène (72.2%, first mention 16.7%), Bioderma (72.2%, first mention 5.6%). - After-sun and hair. ChatGPT: Avène (41.2%, first mention 11.8%), René Furterer (29.4%, first mention 11.8%), Bioderma (29.4%, first mention 0%). Gemini: Avène (58.8%, first mention 23.5%), La Roche-Posay (58.8%, first mention 17.6%), Aroma-Zone (41.2%, first mention 11.8%). How users search, and what it means for a brand, per universe: - Face sun cream. Search: They describe a feeling, rarely a brand: “doesn't ball up under foundation”, “goes shiny after 2 hours”, “I hate the greasy feel”. Nearly one prompt in three is about make-up (pilling, reapplication, waiting time before foundation). The others are about sensitive skin, fragrance-free formulas and white marks on tan or dark skin. Reading: La Roche-Posay is named in 100% of the answers of both AIs, but what follows diverges. ChatGPT puts Eucerin first in 53% of its answers, ahead of La Roche-Posay (41%), while Bioderma (82% presence) is never named first. Gemini puts La Roche-Posay first in 65% of cases, lifts SVR (82%) and Isdin (71%, against 18% on ChatGPT), and names a retailer in 100% of its answers, against 6% for ChatGPT. For a brand: The dermo-cosmetic core is already Visible and Mentioned. The challenge is the first mention, a signal of the Recommended level, won on usage promises (invisible under make-up, no white marks on dark skin) and on consistent product pages across the brand site and the retailers Gemini names in every answer. - Body and family sun care. Search: These are parents and grandparents in a hurry: “my kids won't stay still on the beach, spray or milk, which is quickest?”, “my child refuses sun cream”. They compare formats (cream, spray, stick), shop for a baby under one or for atopic skin, and run into concrete irritants: sticky sand, stinging eyes. Reading: Mustela is named in 72% of Gemini's answers but only 17% of ChatGPT's: the “baby” credentials exist for one and not for the other. ChatGPT relies on pharmacy brands (La Roche-Posay 72%, Avène and Bioderma 61%) and names no brand at all in 22% of its answers. Gemini puts La Roche-Posay first in 44% of cases and names a retailer in 78% of its answers, mostly mass retail (E.Leclerc, Carrefour, Intermarché, Auchan). For a brand: Credentials for children are built situation by situation (age, format, beach, atopic skin) and have to exist in the sources ChatGPT reads, not only in Gemini's. Everyday irritants (stinging eyes, sand) are questions on which a brand can become the reference answer. - Mineral and natural sun care. Search: This is the universe of doubt and verification: “how to spot nanoparticles in an INCI list”, “are reef-friendly creams really better for reefs?”. Add eczema, allergy to chemical filters, sport (surfing, hiking) and white marks. Nearly one prompt in two is an advice question. Reading: It is the only universe where La Roche-Posay does not lead (19% on ChatGPT, 44% on Gemini). Laboratoires de Biarritz dominates Gemini (94% presence, named first in 62% of answers) but stays at 44% on ChatGPT, where Avène (69%) and Bioderma (63%) take the lead. Gemini also names natural brands (Acorelle, Patyka, 31%) and a retailer in 81% of its answers (Biocoop, Naturalia, Sephora, Nocibé). For a brand: On verification questions (nanoparticles, ocean, filters), the brand that explains best becomes the source. Natural brands are Visible on Gemini but little Mentioned on ChatGPT, and a dermo brand can take the “reactive skin or eczema” slot with a mineral range. - Pharmacy and dermatology. Search: The search starts from a prescriber or an indication: “my dermatologist told me to wear SPF 50 every day, which brand?”, melasma, pregnancy mask, polymorphic light eruption, a treatment that makes skin sun-sensitive, a teenager under treatment. The user has already received advice and looks for the product that fits it. Reading: The most locked universe: La Roche-Posay (89% on ChatGPT, 100% on Gemini), Bioderma, Avène and Eucerin share the answers. Eucerin weighs 67% on ChatGPT against 39% on Gemini, SVR the reverse (33% against 67%), and Isdin rises to 33% on Gemini against 6% on ChatGPT. La Roche-Posay is named first in 33% of ChatGPT's answers and 44% of Gemini's. For a brand: A page per indication (melasma, light eruption, photosensitisation, teenager under treatment), validated by a dermatologist and backed by accessible clinical data, is what moves a brand from “named” to “named first”. - After-sun and hair. Search: This is the most problem-driven universe, in the most spoken language: “my hair is like straw after the sea, what can I do”, “I have little itchy spots after the sun, what do I put on”. It includes the evening sunburn, peeling skin, the red child after the beach, hair bleached by the pool and curls to protect. Reading: The most fragmented: no brand exceeds 59% presence or 24% first places. ChatGPT names Avène (41%), René Furterer (29%) and Bioderma (29%) and names no brand at all in 18% of its answers. Gemini blends skin and hair (Avène and La Roche-Posay 59%, Aroma-Zone 41%, Kérastase, Nuxe and Klorane 35%) and names a retailer in 59% of its answers. For a brand: It is the most open universe. Skin brands do not talk hair, hair brands do not talk after-sun: the one that owns the problem (“repair after the sea”, “soothe tonight's sunburn”) has a real chance of taking the first place. Presence is not preference: The presence rate measures the Mentioned level of the V.M.R. methodology. First mention, the share of answers in which the brand is the first one named, is a recommendation signal: stronger than simple presence, it does not mean the AI explicitly claims to recommend the brand. Across the 86 ranked prompts, the gap between the two is the real measure of the work to be done. Bioderma is the most present brand on ChatGPT (64%) but is named first in only 16% of answers, and just 2% on Gemini. SVR is named in 57% of Gemini's answers, first in 7%, and never first on ChatGPT. La Roche-Posay is the brand most often named first on both AIs. Advice or purchase: two AIs, two logics: On shopping prompts, ChatGPT nearly always names brands and never names a retailer, whereas Gemini names a retailer in nearly three answers out of four. On the 57 advice questions (“why does my sun cream pill under make-up?”, “how to spot nanoparticles?”), ChatGPT answers with no brand at all in 86% of cases while Gemini nearly always names some, with a retailer in almost one answer in two. On ChatGPT, brands only appear at the moment of choice. On Gemini, they are also played out in advice and on retailers' product pages. The 7 review questions, left out of the ranking: Seven prompts asked for an opinion on a specific product (Anthelios UVMune 400, Bioderma Photoderm, Vichy Capital Soleil, Supergoop, Typology, Uriage Bariésun, Sephora Collection). Gemini names a retailer in 100% of these answers and puts La Roche-Posay forward (86%). ChatGPT compares with competing brands (Avène and Bioderma 71%, La Roche-Posay 57%). When users ask whether a product is “worth it”, retailers are therefore a channel not to be neglected. Main lesson: In sun care, being named is not enough: Bioderma is the most present brand on ChatGPT (64%) but is named first in only 16% of answers, and La Roche-Posay is the brand most often named first on both AIs (22% and 36%). ChatGPT answers like an adviser and leaves advice questions brandless, Gemini answers like a shopping engine and leans on retailers: the two AIs have to be worked differently. ### Issue #3: Autumn hair care (August 2026) - Page: https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/soins-cheveux-rentree-2026/ - Analysis: MYA (V.M.R. methodology) - Protocol: tests of 30 September 2026 on ChatGPT (gpt-5.6-luna) and Gemini (gemini-3.6-flash). - Key figures: 150 prompts tested per AI: 88 ranked, 55 advice, 7 reviews; 5 shopping universes, on ChatGPT and Gemini; 76% of ChatGPT's advice answers name no brand (0% for Gemini); 84% of Gemini's shopping answers name a retailer (2% for ChatGPT). The 5 findings of AI Beauty Radar #3: 1. Kérastase is very present but rarely first. 68% presence and 11% first mentions on Gemini; 36% and 5% on ChatGPT. 2. On hair loss, ChatGPT often prefers to name no brand. 38% of its shopping answers name no brand and point to a doctor. Gemini names Ducray in 100% of cases. 3. René Furterer exists mostly on Gemini. 53% presence on Gemini against 18% on ChatGPT, and 85% against 8% on hair loss. 4. Sensitive scalps are locked by Ducray on ChatGPT. 88% presence and 56% first mentions, the highest first-mention score of the issue. 5. Retailers weigh in hair care too. Gemini names a retailer in 84% of its shopping answers, and Sephora in 66%. ChatGPT does so in 2% of cases. Top 3 per universe (presence rate): - Hair loss. ChatGPT: Ducray (46.2%, first mention 23.1%), Vichy (38.5%, first mention 0%), Alopexy (23.1%, first mention 23.1%). Gemini: Ducray (100%, first mention 23.1%), René Furterer (84.6%, first mention 0%), Forcapil (76.9%, first mention 7.7%). - Damaged hair after summer. ChatGPT: Kérastase (69.6%, first mention 4.3%), Garnier (65.2%, first mention 34.8%), Klorane (56.5%, first mention 26.1%). Gemini: Kérastase (100%, first mention 4.3%), Garnier (87%, first mention 4.3%), L'Oréal Professionnel (87%, first mention 0%). - Sensitive scalp. ChatGPT: Ducray (87.5%, first mention 56.2%), Bioderma (87.5%, first mention 25%), Eucerin (68.8%, first mention 6.2%). Gemini: Bioderma (87.5%, first mention 18.8%), Ducray (81.2%, first mention 12.5%), Klorane (56.2%, first mention 0%). - Routine by hair type. ChatGPT: Kérastase (45%, first mention 0%), Garnier (35%, first mention 15%), Klorane (35%, first mention 10%). Gemini: Kérastase (95%, first mention 10%), L'Oréal Paris (75%, first mention 5%), Klorane (60%, first mention 15%). - Pharmacy or salon. ChatGPT: L'Oréal Paris (43.8%, first mention 25%), Garnier (43.8%, first mention 18.8%), Klorane (43.8%, first mention 6.2%). Gemini: Kérastase (50%, first mention 18.8%), Garnier (50%, first mention 12.5%), Klorane (50%, first mention 12.5%). How users search, and what it means for a brand, per universe: - Hair loss. Search: More than half of the prompts are worried questions, not purchases: “how can I tell if my hair loss is just seasonal or something worse?”, “I've been losing hair by the handful when brushing since September”. The rest look for a treatment or a supplement, for a man whose hair is thinning, after childbirth, or for fine hair that a treatment must not make greasy. Reading: ChatGPT is cautious: on shopping prompts, 38% of its answers name no brand at all and point to a doctor or a blood test. When it does name brands, Ducray dominates (46%, named first in 23% of answers), ahead of Vichy (38%, never first) and the minoxidil Alopexy (23%). Gemini always names brands: Ducray in 100% of answers, René Furterer in 85% (against 8% on ChatGPT), Forcapil and Klorane in 77%, and supplements such as Vitalfan (54%) or Anacaps (46%). For a brand: This is a reassurance universe. Brands that explain (seasonal loss or not, when to see a doctor, what a treatment can do) become credible sources for ChatGPT, where it stays silent today. On Gemini, the gap between presence and first place shows the battle is about proof of efficacy. - Damaged hair after summer. Search: They describe a state, with images: “my hair is like straw after the beach”, “my lengths are super rough from the salt”, “the pool chlorine has dried out my hair”. They hesitate between mask, oil and leave-in, and add a constraint: bleached, coloured or curly hair, or fine hair that a mask weighs down. Reading: Kérastase is the most named brand on both AIs (70% on ChatGPT, 100% on Gemini) but almost never first (4%). On ChatGPT, first place goes to Garnier (65% presence, named first in 35% of answers) and Klorane (57%, 26%). Gemini names nearly the whole L'Oréal group (L'Oréal Professionnel 87%, L'Oréal Paris 83%), puts René Furterer first in 17% of cases and names a retailer in 100% of its answers (Sephora, Monoprix, Nocibé, Carrefour). For a brand: The users' vocabulary (straw, salt, chlorine, frizz) is the one to find in product pages and FAQs. A premium brand has to justify its price with proof of use to move from simple presence to first mention, and be present at the retailers Gemini names in every answer. - Sensitive scalp. Search: They pile up constraints: “oily roots but a sensitive scalp”, “dandruff and a sensitive scalp”, “curly hair and an itchy scalp”, “a soothing shampoo that won't damage my colour”. They also want to understand: why the scalp turns red or itches after washing, which ingredients to avoid, whether fragrance-free really is better. Reading: This is the most dermatological universe. On ChatGPT, Ducray is the reference: named in 88% of answers and first in 56%, ahead of Bioderma (88%, 25%) and Eucerin (69%). Gemini names the same brands (Bioderma 88%, Ducray 81%) but more often puts Vichy first (31%, against 0% on ChatGPT). On advice questions, ChatGPT names no brand in 91% of cases, while Gemini names Ducray and La Roche-Posay in all its answers. For a brand: Dermatological proof (tolerance, supervised tests, short formulas) makes the difference. Advice questions (ingredients to avoid, itching after washing) are open territory on ChatGPT: the brand that answers them best becomes the source. - Routine by hair type. Search: Prompts start from the hair type and its problem: fine hair that gets greasy or flat, curls “without the crunchy effect”, frizz when it rains, grey hair turning yellow, colour that fades. Many are about the order and way to apply products: it is the routine, more than the product, that is asked for. Reading: ChatGPT is highly scattered: Kérastase is the most named (45%) but never first, and the top spot is shared by Garnier, L'Oréal Professionnel and Bioderma (15% each). Curl specialists (Les Secrets de Loly, Bouclème) and John Frieda appear in 20% of answers. Gemini establishes Kérastase (95%), L'Oréal Paris (75%) and Klorane (60%), names Aroma-Zone in half its answers and a retailer in 95%. For a brand: Specialists (curls, grey hair, fine hair) have a real card to play: routine pages by hair type, with application order and mistakes to avoid, answer exactly these questions and can take a niche brand to the top spot. - Pharmacy or salon. Search: The question is about channel and price: “an effective mask without paying salon prices?”, “supermarket or pharmacy shampoo for damaged hair?”, “why do salon products cost three times more?”. Users weigh supermarket, pharmacy and salon, often with a budget in mind. Reading: This is the universe where ChatGPT names the most brands on advice (54% of its advice answers name at least one, against 24% on average): as soon as channels are compared, it gives examples. It puts L'Oréal Paris (44%, named first in 25% of answers) and Garnier (44%, 19%) on top, ahead of Klorane and René Furterer. Gemini places five brands level at 50% (Kérastase, Garnier, Klorane, René Furterer, L'Oréal Paris) and names a retailer in 81% of its answers. For a brand: A brand has to state clearly where it is sold and why it is worth its price: honest comparisons, equivalences between ranges, proof of results. This is the ground of comparative content, which both AIs readily pick up. Presence is not preference: The presence rate measures the Mentioned level of the V.M.R. methodology. First mention, the share of answers in which the brand is the first one named, is a recommendation signal: stronger than simple presence, it does not mean the AI explicitly claims to recommend the brand. Across the 88 ranked prompts, the gap between the two is the real measure of the work to be done. Kérastase is the most present brand on Gemini (68%) but is named first in only 11% of answers there, and 5% on ChatGPT. René Furterer is named in 53% of Gemini's answers against 18% on ChatGPT. Garnier and Ducray are the brands ChatGPT most often names first (16% and 15%). Advice or purchase: two AIs, two logics: On the 55 advice questions (“does back-to-school stress increase hair loss?”, “which ingredients should I avoid with a reactive scalp?”), ChatGPT answers with no brand at all in 76% of cases, and even refers users to a doctor on hair loss. Gemini names brands in every answer and names a retailer in nearly two advice answers out of three. On shopping prompts, Gemini names Sephora in 66% of answers and Nocibé in 52%, while ChatGPT almost never names a retailer. The 7 review questions, left out of the ranking: Seven prompts asked for an opinion on a specific product (René Furterer Triphasic ampoules, Ducray Anastim serum, Kérastase Nutritive mask, Olaplex No. 3, Klorane shampoos, Vichy Dercos, Garnier Fructis). ChatGPT stays on the brand asked about in 6 answers out of 7. Gemini brings competitors in 5 answers out of 7 (up to 8 brands for Olaplex and Garnier Fructis) and names a retailer in 6 out of 7. On Gemini, a question about your product is also a showcase for your competitors. Main lesson: In hair care, Kérastase is the most present brand on Gemini (68%) and is named in 36% of ChatGPT's answers, but is named first there in only 5% of cases. René Furterer goes from 18% on ChatGPT to 53% on Gemini. ChatGPT stays cautious on hair loss and advice (76% of advice answers without a brand), while Gemini always names brands and names a retailer in 84% of its shopping answers. ### Issue #4: Christmas gift sets 2026 (October 2026) - Page: https://ai-brandecho.com/ai-beauty-radar/coffrets-noel-2026/ - Analysis: MYA (V.M.R. methodology) - Protocol: tests of 30 September 2026 on ChatGPT (gpt-5.6-luna) and Gemini (gemini-3.6-flash). - Key figures: 150 prompts tested per AI: 115 ranked, 28 advice, 7 reviews; 5 shopping universes, on ChatGPT and Gemini; 51% of ChatGPT's shopping answers name a retailer (2% in sun care); 80% of Gemini's shopping answers name Sephora (31% for ChatGPT). The 5 findings of AI Beauty Radar #4: 1. Retailers become central. Gemini names a retailer in 97% of shopping answers, ChatGPT in 51%, against 2% in sun care and hair care. 2. Presence is not preference. Caudalie is at 49% presence on Gemini, but 10% first mentions. 3. Two gifting reflexes. ChatGPT puts pharmacy forward: Avène at 40%, named first in 18% of answers. Gemini puts gift brands forward: Nuxe at 52%, Caudalie at 49%. 4. Budget changes the ranking. On the 31 prompts mentioning a budget or “cheap”, ChatGPT names Yves Rocher in 55% of answers and Dior in 6%. On the 9 “luxury” or “high-end” prompts, it names Dior and Guerlain in 56% of answers and Avène in 0% (small base). 5. Pharmacy is the most concentrated universe. Avène is at 91% presence on ChatGPT and 82% on Gemini, but Gemini names it first in only 4.5% of answers. Top 3 per universe (presence rate): - Beauty gift set. ChatGPT: Sephora Collection (50%, first mention 11.5%), Rituals (38.5%, first mention 15.4%), Yves Rocher (38.5%, first mention 3.8%). Gemini: Caudalie (42.3%, first mention 3.8%), Nuxe (42.3%, first mention 0%), L'Occitane (34.6%, first mention 3.8%). - Top gift sets. ChatGPT: Avène (27.3%, first mention 22.7%), Sephora Collection (27.3%, first mention 13.6%), Rituals (27.3%, first mention 9.1%). Gemini: Caudalie (45.5%, first mention 18.2%), Rare Beauty (40.9%, first mention 9.1%), Charlotte Tilbury (36.4%, first mention 0%). - Pharmacy gift set. ChatGPT: Avène (90.9%, first mention 27.3%), La Roche-Posay (77.3%, first mention 22.7%), Bioderma (68.2%, first mention 4.5%). Gemini: Avène (81.8%, first mention 4.5%), La Roche-Posay (68.2%, first mention 27.3%), Nuxe (59.1%, first mention 18.2%). - Gift set for a 65-year-old woman. ChatGPT: Avène (66.7%, first mention 29.2%), Nuxe (50%, first mention 16.7%), La Roche-Posay (50%, first mention 0%). Gemini: Nuxe (70.8%, first mention 25%), Caudalie (70.8%, first mention 8.3%), L'Occitane (66.7%, first mention 8.3%). - Fragrance gift set. ChatGPT: Adopt (38.1%, first mention 14.3%), Yves Rocher (38.1%, first mention 14.3%), Dior (33.3%, first mention 4.8%). Gemini: Guerlain (57.1%, first mention 9.5%), Nuxe (57.1%, first mention 0%), Dior (47.6%, first mention 4.8%). How users search, and what it means for a brand, per universe: - Beauty gift set. Search: Prompts start from a person, a budget and a constraint: “which beauty gift set for a friend at Christmas, 30-euro budget?”, “my sister is new to make-up”, “my mother has sensitive skin”, “my girlfriend prefers natural cosmetics”. Almost all are choice requests: users want a ready-to-buy answer, often “already gift-wrapped”. Reading: ChatGPT pushes Sephora's own brand: Sephora Collection is named in 50% of its answers, ahead of Rituals (38.5%, named first in 15%), Yves Rocher (38.5%), Caudalie (35%) and L'Occitane (31%). It names a retailer in 62% of its answers. Gemini puts Caudalie and Nuxe on top (42%), then L'Occitane (35%) and Rituals (31%, named first in 19% of answers), brings in make-up (Rare Beauty 27%, Charlotte Tilbury 19%) and names a retailer in 100% of its answers. For a brand: A gift set is chosen by recipient and budget. Brands that publish “which set for whom, at what price” pages, with consistent product pages at Sephora, Nocibé and Marionnaud, answer the question directly. Caudalie and Nuxe are very present on Gemini but rarely first: their challenge is the first mention, a signal of the Recommended level. - Top gift sets. Search: These are “best” and “luxury” queries: “which luxury gift set really makes an impression?”, “the best facial care gift sets for Christmas 2026”, “which advent calendar offers the best value?”. Add the doubts of savvy shoppers: is the stated value of gift sets real, is a calendar or a big set better, where to find a set delivered in time. Reading: ChatGPT is the most hesitant of the Radar: no brand exceeds 27% presence, and 14% of its shopping answers name no brand at all. Avène (27%, named first in 23% of answers) and Sephora Collection (27%, 14%) lead. Gemini answers with trends: Caudalie (45.5%, named first in 18%), Rare Beauty (41%), Charlotte Tilbury (36%), Clarins and Nuxe (32%), Guerlain (27%), with a retailer in 100% of its answers. For a brand: “Best gift set” and “real value” queries call for transparency content (exact contents, product value, sizes) and a presence in the press and selections AIs read. A trending make-up brand wins Gemini; a skincare brand has to convince ChatGPT with proof. - Pharmacy gift set. Search: Prompts start from the skin of the person receiving the gift: sensitive and reactive, atopic, eczema-prone, very dry in winter, a teenager with spots, a mother who cannot stand fragranced products. Budgets are tight (“secret santa at 15–20 euros”, “under 30 euros”) and the question of full sizes comes up often. Reading: The most concentrated universe. ChatGPT names Avène in 91% of its answers (named first in 27%), La Roche-Posay in 77% (23%) and Bioderma in 68%, and puts Nuxe first in 23% of cases. It names online pharmacies in 41% of its answers (Cocooncenter, Easypara). Gemini also names Avène in 82% of answers but almost never first (4.5%): it prefers La Roche-Posay (27%), Nuxe and Caudalie (18%), and names a retailer in 86% of its answers (Atida, Santé Discount, E.Leclerc, Citypharma). For a brand: A pharmacy gift set sells on tolerance and usefulness. Gift-set pages by skin type (atopic, reactive, very dry), with detailed contents and sizes, and up-to-date product pages at the online pharmacies AIs name, are the levers to move from presence to first mention. - Gift set for a 65-year-old woman. Search: These are children and grandchildren buying without knowing the routine: “I don't know her beauty routine, what to give my 65-year-old mother?”, “my mother doesn't like complicated products”, “a small comforting set for grandma under 30 euros”. Recurring words are mature skin, gentle anti-ageing, cocooning, practical and not too strongly scented. Reading: ChatGPT puts pharmacy forward: Avène is named in 67% of its answers and first in 29%, ahead of Nuxe (50%, 17%) and La Roche-Posay (50%, never first). Gemini puts gift brands forward: Nuxe and Caudalie (71%), L'Occitane (67%) and Clarins (62.5%), with Nuxe and Clarins each named first in 25% of answers. Clarins is very strong on Gemini but little present on ChatGPT. For a brand: This is a reassurance universe for the buyer, who does not know the recipient's skin. Brands that explain “which skincare to give without knowing the routine”, with simple sets that are not too strongly scented, answer exactly the question asked. - Fragrance gift set. Search: Fragrance is bought with a budget and a fear of getting it wrong: “an inexpensive fragrance set that doesn't look like a cut-price gift”, “I don't know her taste”, “an elegant men's fragrance set under 50 euros”. There are also refillable sets, counterfeits and last-minute questions about in-store stock. Reading: ChatGPT is the most budget-minded: Adopt and Yves Rocher lead (38%, each named first in 14% of answers), ahead of Dior and Chanel (33%). It names a retailer in 71% of its answers (Sephora, Nocibé, Marionnaud). Gemini goes back to luxury and gifting: Guerlain and Nuxe (57%), Dior (48%), Lancôme (43%, named first in 14% of answers), with a retailer in 100% of its answers. For a brand: The big houses dominate Gemini but leave ChatGPT's top spot to low-price brands. Content that answers the real constraints (budget, “I don't know their taste”, size, refillable) and a consistent presence at the three big retailers are what wins the top spot. Presence is not preference: The presence rate measures the Mentioned level of the V.M.R. methodology. First mention, the share of answers in which the brand is the first one named, is a recommendation signal: stronger than simple presence, it does not mean the AI explicitly claims to recommend the brand. Across the 115 ranked prompts, the gap between the two is the real measure of the work to be done. Avène is the most present brand on ChatGPT and the one most often named first (40% and 18%). Caudalie and Nuxe are the most present on Gemini (49% and 52%) but are named first in only 10% and 9% of its answers. Clarins goes from 6% on ChatGPT to 24% on Gemini, Yves Rocher from 28% to 14%. Advice or purchase: two AIs, two logics: At Christmas, purchase takes over: 115 prompts out of 143 are choice requests. On these prompts, ChatGPT names a retailer in 51% of answers (Sephora 31%, Nocibé 30%, Marionnaud 23%), a level never seen in sun care (2%) or hair care (2%). Gemini names one in 97% of answers (Sephora 80%, Nocibé 74%, Marionnaud 67%). On the 28 advice questions (real value of gift sets, miniatures, delivery before Christmas), ChatGPT names no brand in 57% of cases, while Gemini always does. The 7 review questions, left out of the ranking: Seven prompts asked for an opinion on a specific gift set (Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, Caudalie, Dior facial care, Rituals, Guerlain Abeille Royale, Sephora advent calendar, Typology versus Oh My Cream). ChatGPT stays on the brand asked about in 6 answers out of 7 and names a retailer in 5 out of 7. Gemini brings competitors in 4 answers out of 7 (13 brands for the Sephora calendar) and names a retailer in all 7. Main lesson: At Christmas, even ChatGPT points to retailers: it names one in 51% of its shopping answers, against 2% in sun care, and Gemini in 97%, with Sephora in 80% of its answers. ChatGPT puts pharmacy brands on top (Avène 40%, named first in 18% of answers), Gemini gift brands (Nuxe 52%, Caudalie 49%). Caudalie is named in 49% of Gemini's answers but first in only 3% of ChatGPT's. ### Issue #5: Dry and reactive winter skin (coming soon · December 2026) - Results not yet published. ## AI Beauty Radar: 2026 signals Cross-reading of issues #1 to #4. GEO covers the actions that make a brand visible in the answers of generative AI such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews. Where SEO aims for a place in a list of links, GEO aims for a place in the answer itself, ideally as a recommendation. - Does GEO replace SEO? No, it extends it. AI relies in part on pages indexed by search engines, so a solid SEO foundation remains essential. GEO adds other requirements: clear positioning, content that answers customers' questions precisely, and credible third-party sources that talk about the brand. - What is the V.M.R. methodology? Developed by MYA, it measures three levels of a brand's presence in an AI answer: Visible (present in the sources or context), Mentioned (named among others) and Recommended (explicitly advised or placed as first choice). The goal of AI Brand Echo is to move a brand from V to R on its priority queries. ## Contact - Email: hello@ai-brandecho.com - Form: https://ai-brandecho.com/#contact - EN website: https://ai-brandecho.com - FR website: https://ai-brandecho.fr - MYA agency: https://www.agence-mya.fr/en/
